Records and Information Management

The records management office, Managed by Mario Gancinia, is located in the old telephone services room between Hale 3 and 5; he is assisted by two students. 

They also store the more sensitive archives with them there until they are imaged. 

Old documents are also shredded from this location.

 

Program Rationale

Brigham Young University of Hawaii Records Management provides a systematic program to assist campus offices with the creation, use, maintenance, retention, disposition, and preservation of records.

Mission

To maintain a comprehensive records management program for Brigham Young University of Hawaii. This includes teaching sound records management principles, supporting access to information for legal, financial and operational decisions, and assisting in the appraisal of historical university records and deliver of them to University Archives.

Personnel:

The Records and Information Management Officer’s responsibility is to facilitate, direct and manage the collection and disposition of University information and records. The IRMO oversees the organization, budgeting and supervision of the university wide information/records management system. Manages the University Records Center and trains all university personnel on information records management policies and procedures.
