Student IT equipment checkout

We provide students with equipment to enhance their learning experience.


Located in the library at the counter directly across from the main entrance. Media Scheduling Services provides you with student laptops as well as multimedia resources and services to classes and other instructional programs and events that are part of the university's curriculum.

Please note that you need your BYUH ID to checkout a laptop.

Students can checkout a laptop for academic purposes from Media Scheduling Services. The borrowing period for laptops is set at 4 hours from the time of checkout, with the opportunity for renewal at the counter.

Please note that Media Services closes 30 minutes before the library does, so plan accordingly.

Laptops are strictly limited to on-campus use and may not be removed from campus premises.

Those laptops are owned and managed by BYUH, students are expected to use them under BYUH guidelines.

Failure to comply with these regulations will result in a refusal of service from Media Scheduling Services as well as a fine of $1 per hour past the scheduled return time.

Banned students can submit a written appeal to Media Scheduling Services manager.

Media Scheduling Services can also provide students with other IT equipment including:

  • Headset
  • Computer Mic
  • Clicker
  • Extension Cord (15 feet)
  • Computer Mouse
  • DVD Player

Users are responsible for learning how to effectively use the media equipment in tech rooms.

If you are not sure of how to use audiovisual equipment, please schedule an appointment with Media Services for a training on correct equipment use.

Media Services will always close 30 minutes before the library does.
Fall/winter/summer semester hours:
Mon to Thurs. 7 am-11:30 pm, Fri. 7 am-7:30 pm, Sat. 9 am-2:30 pm
Media Services is closed on Sunday.
