Sign-in Switch
BYU–Hawaii is moving to a new identity provider, or IDP. We are transitioning from QuickLaunch to OKTA. This change is part of a broader effort to create a unified, single sign-on experience across all Church Educational System colleges that will happen further down the line. With OKTA, you'll have easier, more secure access to all your campus apps and services using just one login.
STEP ONE: Reset Your Password
The first step is to reset your password in the current identity provider, QuickLaunch. It should only take a few minutes to complete.
Password Requirements
Your new password must include:
- A minimum of eight characters
- An upper-case letter
- A lower-case letter
- At least one number
Your new password should not include:
- References to "BYUH" or "aloha"
- Commonly used phrases
- Your name or username
- Your email address
STARTING JUNE 11
STEP TWO: Set Up Multi-factor Authentication
Note: This step is not available yet but to prepare, you can learn what you will need to do on Wednesday, June 11. Be sure to set aside some time for this before you will need to get into BYUH applications.
Okta will be live on June 11. Before you can log into your BYUH applications on that day, you will need to set up your multi-factor authentication to start using the new single sign-on system.
You will be taken through the setup process. Here's what it will look like:
- Set up your security questions. These will be your backup authentication method.
- Download and install the OKTA Verify app on your mobile device.*
- Open the app and scan the QR code displayed on your screen. This will link your device to your OKTA account.
- Scan the QR code on the screen and follow the instructions to set up a passkey.
- Once you've reached the BYU–Hawaii OKTA dashboard, you're ready to start using the new single sign-on application and access your university accounts.
